No Cost Actions.

  • De-frost it before it gets too bad.
  • Ensure heat can circulate around the back
  • Set it to the highest safe temperature (XC)
  • Don’t cram it too full – if the air can’t circulate it won’t work properly.
  • If you have the option, keep it in a cool place.
  • If you’re regularly running it nearly empty, place blown up plastic bags in it
  • To save the cold air all spilling out each time the door is opened.
  • Don’t keep the door open longer than you need to.
  • Allow food to cool before putting it in the fridge.
Small Cost Actions 

  • When it needs replacing, buy one with a high energy rating.
  • Don’t buy a fridge that is larger than you need
